Touring Canada from east coast to west coast, our team of consultants from the Netherlands, Denmark, and North America will host participants from a variety of backgrounds in the comprehensive training sessions on bicycle planning, policy and culture. The in-depth sessions will last two days, beginning in Halifax in February, 2012.
The sessions will teach a holistic approach to reaching a world class level of bicycle infrastructure. Incorporating everything from public health to best practice design to marketing campaigns that effectively encourage cycling, the sessions will end with participant presentations and their highly achievable plans for a more bicycle-friendly city.
Years of research in bicycle transport marketing has shown the importance of sound planning and policy methods but also effectively communicating those ideas. Now, more than ever, bicycle infrastructure is at the forefront of transportation planners’ minds and we are keen to ensure this practical, simple, and clean mode of transit is here to stay on the urban landscape.
