Since 2007, the mission of the Copenhagenize blog has been to analyse and highlight the power of the simple bicycle to create positive change in cities around the world. Beginning with a spotlight on groundbreaking bicycle innovation in Copenhagen, we have since broadened our scope to cities all over the world, who are increasingly realizing that creating life-sized cities for today and tomorrow’s urban citizens requires a shift away from the private automobile towards the comfort, efficiency, and ease of a city built with the bicycle at the core of its design. Our fundamental goal of shedding light on and advocating for the normalisation of the bicycle as a mode of transportation hasn’t changed, but we realize that — while informative and essential — long-form, in-depth blog posts are not always accessible for all the readers who might benefit from engaging with this material.

In Copenhagenize Design Co.’s research, education, planning, and design, we aim to impact all types of people — not just those who would call themselves a “cyclist.” As a result, we've created a new venue for smaller, more bite-sized updates on our work and observations — as they happen — in cities across the globe. Emphasizing life-sized urban design, with the bicycle leading the way, our News page will strive to provide frequent updates on the projects we are working on, disseminate research and innovation around the world in an accessible, digestible format, and keep the conversations going on social media platforms. In doing so, we hope to foster greater engagement with a diverse range of people in a diverse number of cities. Our longer-form writing will of course continue on the Copenhagenize blog, but our News page will keep you regularly up-to-date on what we work on and think about every week.
