Project Summary

With the roll out of an all ages and abilities bicycle network, the City of Saskatoon has experienced both positive and negative feedback as changes take place on the City’s streets to build protected cycling infrastructure. To highlight how cycling is truly for all ages and abilities the City worked with Copenhagenize to craft a fun, bright and positive bicycle communications campaign. The campaign incorporates a flip-book style of images and videos of people of all ages cycling in all types of weather, including Saskatoon’s -20F degree winters. The local university is also promoting the campaign through on-campus advertising using messaging that Copenhagenize developed specifically for University of Saskatchewan and its adjacent medical facilities. The campaign’s logo and branding through the hashtag #BYXE, pronounced “bikes”, integrates the City’s popular airport code YXE.
