Project Summary

In response to the recent focus on cycling triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Cuenca, Ecuador saw an opportunity to plan a comprehensive expansion of their bicycle infrastructure. Working in partnership with the Municipality, and the German Development Agency, the Copenhagenize team has consulted on four crucial intersections, bringing a user experience perspective to the design process. The initiative sprang up out of the international TUMI Challenge initiative, in which cities from around the world are tackling the global pandemic on a local scale.
